Facets gloomy mental state and hopeless emptiness...
From mischievous euphoria to the blackest bottom...
Such a variety...
But the components of a mercilessly, contradictory, indestructible and heavy whole.
...What is - to be alone with spleen in a moment of despair, when all is said, when deep atmosphere of late late autumn and sorrow winter in your sensitive soul does not disappear...
A variety of musical canvas this album covers many sub-genres of dark dark music.

De l'action de descendre sciemment vers le néant au constat simple, lancé dans un dernier soupir, comme si on était mis devant le fait accompli : There is no beauty left here...
Indispensable !! Jordan Vauvert

US Epic Black Metal. This is a top notch album in every sense. If, on top of that, you consider that it is a debut then... WOW! These guys are well on their way to greatness! For "outcasts" they are doing pretty damn well I would say... :) Very highly recommended!!! bmurator

I bought their other album, Spleen, months ago, and then just recently bought this one ... without even listening to it first. Thankfully Revenant is also amazing, serving as the perfect precursor to their more recent material. Tom's Reviews
A blackened doom concept record about the very real problem of amphibian extinction, “Croak” is a punishing, essential listen. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 23, 2022
Crushing blackened doom from this German band that counterbalances blinding fury with moments of surprising, melancholy melody. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 8, 2023

After listening to Ysyry Mollvün, listening to Downfall of Nur was urgent and turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made in quite some time: Umbras de Barbagia is simply magisterial; the atmosphere can hardly be compared to anything else. There is a deep, palpable connection to nature imbueing each very fibre of this record. The amalgamation of black metal and folk elements is done with a high intuition for detail and class, resulting in a highly immersive experience. Wonderful. David Fischer
